INTRODUCING

Shama Studio

Shama Studios began the way many meaningful things do - at home.

Late nights. A shared workspace. Hands covered in sawdust. Sketches spread across the table. Two people building something slowly, side by side.

We are a husband and wife design studio creating heirloom quality cultural decor and furniture for meaningful living - pieces shaped by our hands and inspired by the traditions that raised us.

Raf has always been drawn to art, handiwork, and woodworking - his favorite place is still Home Depot. Long before Shama Studios existed, he was building, experimenting, and learning how materials come together.

Saira grew up crafting and DIY-ing alongside her mother and grandmother - learning that the home is not just a place you live, but something you shape with care.

Those early lessons - of patience, creativity, and working with your hands - became the foundation of this studio.

It is also deeply personal.

Shama was Raf’s sister - an artist, a crafter, and someone who found joy in creating. Though she is no longer with us, her love for art, beauty, and making lives on through this work.

Shama Studios is a way of honoring that light:

  • Light in the home
  • Light in gathering
  • Light in traditions passed down and reimagined

Every piece we create carries that intention.

Our designs draw from Islamic and South Asian artistry reinterpreted through a clean, modern lens.

Each piece is:

  • Handmade and made-to-order
  • Produced in small batches
  • Designed to last beyond a season

We don’t mass produce. We make thoughtfully, slowly, and with care - so each piece feels personal, intentional, and enduring.

These are modern heirlooms, created for homes where meaning matters.

We believe in:

  • Heritage — honoring cultural traditions through design
  • Craftsmanship — precision, skill, and attention to detail
  • Meaningful living — creating space for gratitude, hosting, and togetherness
  • Fusion — blending Islamic and South Asian motifs with modern aesthetics
  • Authenticity — sharing the real journey, from concept to craft

Our work is shaped by lived experience - not trends.

Shama Studios is built by two people learning, experimenting, and growing in real time.

You’ll see us:

  • Designing and prototyping
  • Testing finishes
  • Refining details
  • Making mistakes and improving

This studio is not about perfection.

It’s about intention, care, and creating something that feels like home.

We’re honored to be part of your space - and the moments you gather within it.
